About The Department

The Department of Sanskrit of Akui Kamalabala Women’s College began its journey in 2018 offering the subject as programmecourse and acombination paper for the general degree course in undergraduate level. Major course in Sanskrit in UG level started in the year 2023. It adopted the C.B.C.S. curriculum w.e.f. 2017-18 session,followed by C.C.F. norm w.e.f. 2023-24 session.

At present the department has one SACT.

RELEVANCE OF THE SUBJECT :Sanskrit is the most interesting and scientific language in the world.Study of Sanskrit helps in reviving the ethos of India.It helps the students to unlock the treasure house of scientific insight and research results concerning positive sciences in our ancient literature. Rigveda are the seeds of Sanskrit literature. Vedas are the soul of Indian culture and tradition. It is the store house of all types of knowledge which are very useful to maintaining a healthy and tension free life in the society.The culture of Sanskrit is the culture of synthesis and assimilation.

Mission of Sanskrit Department: The mission of Sanskrit literature is one of  humanism, of  unity, of mankind, of values, of peaceand mutual understanding and harmonious development of the individual and society.To reach the truth and reality, to seek the truth and to achieve the real goal of life.
