How to Apply

INFORMATION SHEET FOR APPLICANTS FOR ADMISSION TO

1ST YEAR (HONOURS & PASS) IN THREE YEAR DEGREE COURSE SESSION:: 2018-19

 

Admission to 1st Year Honours & Programme (Arts) Courses will be given strictly on the basis of merit and through online counseling (website: http://www.akuiwomenscollege.org).

 

  1. 75% attendance is mandatory for all admitted students in the class of first Two weeks of commencement of class.
  2. Details of the courses, eligibility criteria and relevant information are available in this prospectus and our college website (www.akuiwomenscollege.org).
  3.  HOW TO APPLY

       The online admission site of the College has been designed in a users’ friendly way to help candidates for applying online in a step-by-step fashion. It has two  major stages

  • Registration and or Online-Application
  • Admission. For Registration visit  www.akuiwomenscollege.org
  • Click on  “Admission Open 2018-19right middle side of website for entered in  the Online-Application Form Fill Up.
  • Then filled-up the form.
  • Madhyamik Details
  • HS Details
  • Personal Details
  • Course Details
  • Select your choice: For Honours - Apply for Honours and For General- BA General for BA Pass Course.
  • The online application allows to upload scanned photograph (within 30kb) & signature (within 20 kb)
  •  After filling-up click PROCEED
  •  Review & check Application Form
  •  If all are right then click Final Submit

  •  After filling up necessary information at each stage properly candidate should pay the requisite amount to the college through online payment system (built up in the software), without which the candidature of the candidate will be cancelled. Mode of online payment will be displayed in the software itself and the candidate should choose any one of them (Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, Cash Card (A nominal TDR charge would be applicable). It is important to mention that in all the cases the candidate should note the ONLINE REGISTRATION NUMBER failing which it may be difficult for making bank payment through online process. The same registration number should be used by the candidate for further tracking of his/her candidature at different stages.
  •  Student may Login at any time is required by USER NAME (Acknowledgement No.) AND PASSWORD (Date of Birth) sent to their mobile number
  •  Prospective candidates are advised to follow the message sent to their mobile/email by AKUI KAMALABALA WOMEN’S College and also visit our college website (www.akuiwomenscollege.org) notice board at regular intervals for updates.

 

 FOR ADMISSION

  •  After publishing merit list go our website (www.akuiwomenscollege.org)
  • Then come to college on schedule day for verification with Printed ONLINE APPLICATION FORM and all originals & photocopy of all testimonials as mentioned in "Notice" to complete the Verification process.
  • Click on  “Admission Open 2018-19” 
  •  Again click “Merit List ”
  •  If your status is Verified then you will find " Make Payment" button, click on the button.
  • Then Login by USER NAME AND PASSWORD.
  •  Then follow the payment procedure.
  •  Click “Accept” to accept the Terms and Conditions.
  •  Then click “Final Submit”
  •  Then pay your admission fee by online.
  •  After payment print the Acknowledgement Slip.
  • Then appear in college for final submission of all documents.
  •  Rights of cancellation or selection/admission lie with the Admission Committee of the Institute concerned.
  •  If a candidate gives wrong information or misguides the college, then his/her admission will be cancelled and the admission fees will be forfeited.

 

  1. Merit Point calculation for Honours is best 5 elective subjects & Respective Honours Subject
  2. Merit Point calculation for General is best 5 elective subjects.
  3. At the time of counseling Honours and combination subjects will be offered according to the choice of the applicants subject to the availability of seats. In case of applicants with same marks in aggregate, marks in the Madhyamik/Equivalent examination will be given priority.

 

  1. RESERVATION GUIDELINES FOR THE APPLICANTS
  • Reservation for SC, ST, OBC & PWD (Differently able) candidates:
  • Reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC/Differently able candidates shall be as per Government rules as applicable at the time of admission.
  • Certificates in respect of SC/ST/OBC/Differently able candidates should be issued by appropriate authorities authorized by the respective Government in this regard within their respective jurisdictions (e.g. District Magistrate/District Collector/ Additional District Magistrate/Sub-Divisional Officer/Sub-Divisional Magistrate/ Deputy Collector/Executive Magistrate/Taluka Magistrate/Stipendiary Assistant Commissioner (not below the rank of First Class Magistrate)/Chief Presidency Magistrate/Additional Chief Presidency Magistrate/Presidency Magistrate/Revenue Officer not below the rank of Tehsildar/Deputy Commissioners/First Class Stipendiary Magistrate/Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Calcutta/Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Calcutta/Metropolitan Magistrate, Calcutta/Collector of Stamp Revenue, Calcutta/Deputy Collector of Land Revenue, Calcutta). Certificates issued by an appropriate authority, who have been authorized by the Government to issue such certificates in case of candidates claiming to be Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates and ordinarily residing within such jurisdictions, may only be accepted.
  • Differently Able Persons (Certificates from at least Sub-Divisional level Govt. hospitals are necessary) Minimum degree of disability should be 40% in order to be eligible for any benefits.
  • Orthopedically Handicapped/Locomotors disability/Cerebral Palsy
  • The Orthopedically Handicapped are those who have a physical defect or deformity which causes an interference with the normal functioning of the bones, muscles and joints. All cases of orthopedically handicapped persons would be covered under this category.
  • Visually Handicapped (Blind and partially blind)
  • A person inflicted with any of the following disabilities shall be considered:
  1. Total absence of sight
  2. With visual acuity not exceeding 6/60 or 20/200 (Sullen) in the better eye with correcting lenses
  3. With limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle of 20 degrees or worse

 

The Visually Handicapped (VH) candidates should posses the latest certificates issued by an authorized hospital under the Govt. of India/State Governments.

 

Hearing Impairment/Deafness

  • The deaf are those in whom the sense of hearing is non-functional for ordinary purposes of life. They do not hear or understand sounds at all events with amplified speech. The cases included in this category will be those having hearing loss for more than 60 decibels in the better ear (profound impairment) or total loss of hearing in both ears.

 

Certificate of Category (SC/ST/OBC/PWD etc) must be produced during verification in college office. If a candidate fails to produce the above certificate, he/she will be dropped from the panel and the next candidate in the panel will be given the chance. • Not more than one type of relaxation shall be granted to any candidate.

 

  1. If any applicant finds any sort of mistake in the merit list, he/she is advised to send an e-mail to akuiwomenscollege.org. Failure to deposit the entire amount of admission fee may lead to cancellation of candidature.

 

No request for relaxation of fees or delay in payment will be entertained at the time of admission.

Academic discipline

  1. According to the guidelines framed by the University of Bankura, a student will have to attend at least 75% of their classes to appear as a regular student in the Final Examination.
  2. Student having attendance less than 75% but above 60% will be declared NON-COLLEGIATE. However, they will be allowed to sit for the Final Examination with a fine specified by the college.
  3. Students are expected to pay respect and extend co-operation to Teaching and Non-teaching staff.
  4. Students should keep the college campus clean.
  5. Students must not loiter in the verandah in front of the running class room.
  6. Every student should bring his/ her identity card without fail while coming to the college and present it when required.
  7. Students are directed to go through the Notice Board (Website as well as Campus) regularly.

Admission Criterion for the session 2018-2019

A minimum of 45% marks in the aggregate of H.S or equivalent examination is required for the admission into the 1st year Honours courses.
